George Pettit, MD

George Pettit received his BA from Kent State University in June 1969. He went on to receive is PhD in Physiology and Biomedical Physics in 1974 and his MD in 1981, both from Baylor College of Medicine. From 1981 to 1984 he completed his residency in Internal Medicine.
Dr. Pettit has held multiple positions throughout his career. He has held multiple positions in education and as a medical director in the hospital setting. In 1973, George was commissioned as a Captain in the US Army. He served most of his four-year term as a Research Physiologist at the US Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases at Fort Detrick, Maryland.
Since 1982, Dr. Pettit has held multiple Staff Physician positions at hospitals in Texas and Ohio.
Dr. Pettit holds active memberships with the American College of Emergency Physicians, the American Medical Association, and the American Physiology Society.
He is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine. George was married to his late wife Cheri in 2003 and has seven children.
